The scope of work for this military project included complete investigation, research, drafting and design to renovate building 1937, the Transmitter Building. The renovation included the design of foundations (floor and groundwork) for two (2) 100’ high antenna towers, in addition to a 90’ and 95’ antenna tower, a total of 3168 SF.
Services and analyses included environmental and mitigation plans, archaeological study / mitigation, asbestos/lead/hazardous material survey and abatement plans, coastal commission requirements, security upgrades, fire protection upgrades, GPS receivers, redundancies, grounding, installation of a generator, UPS system to support, HVAC upgrades, full communications upgrades, and significant equipment upgrades.
Overall contract services included civil infrastructure, building investigation, and architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and civil/structural design. Calibre’s site utilities included water service (expanded 3” water line), fire lines, additional circuits for communications lines (DSN, Commercial, Alarm, AF LAN, GPS, Voice Switch T‐1, fiber connectivity, CS5 timing and backups), new foundations, soils and groundwater testing and mitigation, AT/FP compliance, and site circulation.
